    Wow!!!!!

I went tonight and it was a great show!

Every artist was really interesting and there was some really cool video work as well.
The sound was superb and the DJs were kicking it too.

Elise Baldwin started out with a nice set and I loved her JITTER controlled video
piece utilizing old circus footage. It was mesmerizing to watch.

It was so great to see Michiko Gawagoe play for the first time in the Bay Area.
Her work with synthetic voice software is really unique and , well.................human!
She also had a fantastic flautist take the part in a piece that was scored for
computer and Shakuhachi. Mary Clare Brzytwa had a beautiful and difficult performance.
She's new to me and I was very happy to discover this Oakland resident who is so
    accomplished.

Kadet followed with three different video pieces accompanied by her own computer
compositions (man, oh man were there a lot of Macs in the room tonight...........not a PC to be seen).
In her last piece which had some humorous cut video accompanying here electronica tracks, she
would occasionally bust into a really funky glitch groove only to pull away from it immediately.
Her set was wonderful, but as a groove monkey, I'd love to see what she would do if she got serious
with her rhythmic compositions...................her sound design was wonderful..........the best of the night
    imho.

Dark Muse finished off the night and it was really wonderful to see here playing instruments in real time
using a lot of live looping processing. She used toys, bowed and scraped cymbals, overtone pipes and
of course, here beautiful and ethereal voice to create a mesmerizing sound scape that slowly morphed
    over one very long piece.

It was the perfect end to a perfect night.

there were even really cool circuit bent CD cases that were on sale..............How cool is that.
All kudos to the weirdpixie and who ever else helped with the organization of this amazing event.

go see the rest of these shows. I wish I could.

Thanks so much for your excellent feedback, Rick- much appreciated!

We'll be posting lots of photos and some audio clips from the series at the website as soon as I can catch my breath and rest up a bit from this amazing experience. It was so awesome to have such a varied group of performers at the series, even better than I could have hoped. I am also thrilled that such a non-commercial form of "music" can now be appreciated in such far reaching circles and venues worldwide.

I'm already hearing from other women around different parts of the world that they are going to present our recent series and compilation project to their own arts and cultural councils in order to receive funding to put on their own similar festivals, not to mention quite a few of the solo performers on the compilation have already gone off to release their very first recordings after gaining exposure from being part of this project, so that's really something, not to mention I think the fears that most women have had in using technology and developing and working with sound experimentation have been dropping off to the wayside more and more as projects like these are brought into the spectrum.
